SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
For those wishing to submit to our blog we have a few guidelines in order to make it easy for us to feature your stunning work!
SUBMISSIONS BY PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY.
Anyone looking to submit to our blog may do so through the professional photographer. You will be rejected for submission if you do not have the photographer's permission or have copied the submission elsewhere.
EXCLUSITIVITY.
We don't mind if your submission has been featured in national publications or other blogs we actually encourage that you spread the word of how amazing our region is! All we ask that these weddings don't get featured anywhere else that is a local publication or blog within Gippsland.
PHOTO FILES & CHOOSING
Include about 150 images that tell the story of the whole day. We like to see a variety and the whole day. We don't need 50 shots of the getting ready, space it out and give us a good selection of all the details. Images also need to be watermark free.
FILL OUT THE FORMS AND CREDITS LIST HOW WE ASK
All we ask is that you have a short blurb of the wedding and the vendor list with website links ready for us to copy and paste. We made it easy so please, pleaseee don't make us chase you for this!
EDITING STYLE
We carefully curate your 150 images down to about 50-80 in order for us to share your story with our readers in a way we know will resonate best with them. We appreciate that there are many different types of photographic styles, but we tend to gravitate more towards photographs that are shot in a candid or documentary style.
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Sure we love to feature a beautifully elegant wedding but we see so many every day they can all start to look the same after a while. If there is a unique angle, it’s sure to catch our attention. We especially love seeing:
- Gay marriage, other culture's, sexes and promotion of diversity.
- Brides in short, coloured, vintage, sequinned or non-traditional bridal gowns
- BOLD and BRIGHT colours!
- Brides in designer gowns or something unique, ie: not another strapless off-the-rack number.
- Weddings held in mind blowingly unique or draw droppingly beautiful locations
- Weddings held in backyards and on family properties
- Weddings that really encapsulate a particular part of Gippsland
- Weddings with big budget styling or couples who have managed to do something stylish on a shoe-string budget
- Receptions with simple but awesomely executed details
- Receptions with a tightly executed theme whether its Gatsby glamour or a Mexican fiesta!
By all means the above are not hard and fast rules, we love featuring a diverse mix of weddings from all sexes, religions and styles we look forward to your submission knocking our socks off!
